From FNAL you can leave by the Batavia Rd gate and proceed 1 mile to Route 59. Turn right (south) on Route 59 an go about 3 miles to interstate 88. Take 88 east (to Chicago). After about 10 miles take 355 south (a toll road). After another 10mi, take 55 "north" which is really east towards downtown.
55 will end at Lake Shore Drive (labeled route 41) and you have to go north or south, you want to go south. Continue on LSD for about 4 miles until the 53rd street exit. Here you only have one choice, to go west on 53rd. Continue west for one block to the first light. Take a left at the light and go south two blocks. Go right on 55th St. Keep going east a few blocks until you go under the railroad bridge and around the apartment building in the middle of the street. After that, the first light is Woodlawn and the second light is Ellis Ave. You will want to enter at 5620 S. Ellis (1.1 blocks to your left) but it will probably be easier to find a parking place if you turn right and explore those side roads.
Coming back to 55th and Ellis, go 1.1 blocks south to 5620 S. Ellis Ave. Going through those doors, you want to go up the half flight of stairs in front of you. At the top of the stairs turn left and go straight for 30-40 meters (involves a slight jog in hallway.) You should be going through two sets of double doors. After the second set of doors, you should see a wall of mail boxes and bulletin boards. The room right by the mail boxes is Research Institues 180 (RI-180). The number there is 773-702-4781.
To get out of Hyde Park, you need to turn around and go back north on any street (such as Woodlawn) to 47th street. Go right (east) straight on 47th all the way until it ends, where it will force you to go on LSD northbound, where you want to be. (53rd only has an exit from LSD, 47th has an entrance.) Go north for about 3 miles and take the exit for 55 south.
Alternative parking plan: at the corner of 55th and Ellis you can turn left, go 1.1 blocks down Ellis, double park, run into the meeting room and get a parking pass from us. This will allow you to park in the lot you just passed on your right. To get back to the lot, you have to go around the block making right turns.
