INSTALL INTERCONNECTIX SOFTWARE
Interconnectix installation procedure
Mount Interconnectix cd
Run "/cdrom/UNIX/INSTALL.;1"
Directory to install to: /net/edg/disk3/icx
Notes
Don't worry about the installation directory having the old version of the software in it. The installation program automatically creates a new directory with the new version as its name and installs all files there. This, of course, means that a lot of editing of files has to be done to point out the new locations.
Next make sure to edit the following files:
/etc/PATH
/etc/dt/config/Xsession.d/edg
Addition on July 14, 1999:
As of version 2.1.07, the Interconnectix license uses the Mentor Graphics mgcld daemon. So any new Interconnectix licenses should be included in the mgc.licenses file. This also means that the environment variables ICX_LICENSE_FILE and ICX_LICENSE_LOG are no longer necessary.
INSTALLING THE MENTOR ICX STANDARD LIBRARY
Along with the Interconnectix software, there is also the Mentor ICX Standard Library that needs to be installed. The current location for the libraries is in /net/edg/disk3/icx/libs. The old directory should probably be moved prior to installing since the install program doesn't create a separate directory for each version.
Installation Procedure
Move the old libs directory to libs.old and create a new libs directory
Change to the directory /cdrom/ICX_Standard_Library/unix and add . to the path
Run the unixzlip command to install. Syntax is:
unixzlip /cdrom/ICX_Standard_Library/unix /net/edg/disk3/icx/libs format.z
Follow the prompts and choose ICX Standard Library at the first menu
