PreFRED Board simulation with QUICKSIM-II

Introduction

The PreFRED board has been fully simulated with QUICKSIM-II of Mentor Graphics. The project has been done on a UNIX workstation in the Electronics Development Group of The University of Chicago. The several QSIM setup files are in the /design/CDF_L1/final_PreFRED/PreFRED2/setups/... directory.

QSIM Results

  1. SUMET Board: Simulation of the board with the processor chip configured for SUMET.
    1. 0~3500 nsec: Writing of control registers and trigger thresholds.
    2. 0~7000 nsec: Reading of control registers and trigger thresholds.Enter run mode.
    3. 7000~10500 nsec: B0 comes and data starts to enter the FIFOs.
    4. 10500~140000 nsec: Reading the DAQ buffers.
    5. 14000~17500 nsec: Same.
    6. 17500~21000 nsec: Same
    7. 21000~24500 nsec: Same.
    8. 24500~28000 nsec: Halt.
